Damn, this show must have taken a shitload of organizing. Peacock, whoever they are Possibly a film or two will also be shown. Oh yeah, and a short play will happen, featuring Mr.

And Matthew Hattie Hein and Jeff London will do something funny, possibly involving music. Huckeby, Daphna Kohn, and Amoree Lovell will be performing some lovely music. Though the show sounds a little scattered, as there doesn't seem to be a lot of unity between the readings and song and dance and performance art (beyond the fact that they're all about the idea of the cabaret, of course) there are a lot of redeeming local all-stars on the list. (Blackbird) This is somewhat of a variety show, all centered around the idea of the cabaret. Struggling to make a bold stand amongst the decadent culture which thrives on indulgence, Breaker Breaker's anthems of youth frustration just might help keep you from straying down the same path of unabashed narcotic consumption and using your Christmas bonus on hookers instead of gifts for needy children. SF was the very same city that stripped my own hands clean of the badly sharpie-d X of sober brotherhood. (Paris) Heavily influenced by Gorilla Biscuits' NYC style of straightedge hardcore, Breaker Breaker is from (get this) SAN FRANCISCO, where they must suffer from constant West Coast identity crises. JEFF DEROCHEĬHAMPION, BREAKER BREAKER, OVER MY DEAD BODY, FOR THOSE I'VE KILLED It's a great album-not his brilliant best, which would be 1997's Either/Or, but great nonetheless.

I was only thinking that, though, because I had gone all sentimental and pulled Elliott Smith from its dusty sleeve. Only on the gay version, instead of crooning the lyric "needle in the hay" in a beautifully listless whisper, as Smith does on the original, some big nelly thing would sing "needle in the HAAAAAAAAAY, giiiiirl!" while flitting his arms about wildly and performing the running man. (Crystal) I was thinking recently that it would be really funny for a gay to redo Elliott Smith's excellent song "Needle in the Hay," which he penned for his self-titled 1995 Kill Rock Stars release.
